Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

Bandit is a happy cat. He has an owner, Michelle, who loves him, a warm blanket, minced clams for dinner, and a fuzzy toy mouse. But when Mitzi, a new kitten, moves in and messes with Bandit's stuff, Bandit feels threatened. "Paws OFF, purr-brain," he cries when Mitzi goes after Fuzzy Mouse. Will these two cats ever reach a purr-fect friendship? Bandit's cat-titude comes to life in Vincent Nguyen's vivid, retro, full-page and paneled illustrations featuring graphite pencil, ink, watercolor, and digital media.

When Michelle brings home a new kitten, her cat Bandit is not at all pleased to share his home and water dish, and absolutely refuses to share his favorite toy mouse.

Horn Book Review

Outraged when his owner brings home a kitten, Bandit the cat runs away. He changes his mind--only to find himself locked out by mistake. After the kitten helps him get back inside, Bandit warms to her enough to provide a satisfying (if predictable) resolution. The illustrations' comic-strip look and Bandit's grumpy reaction are entertaining, though his nicknames for the kitten grow tiresome. Copyright 2010 of The Horn Book, Inc. All rights reserved.
