Horn Book Review

In an elaborate, saccharine fantasy, Abbott explains how a boy named Kringle joins the elves, frees humanity from terror by defeating evil kidnapping goblins, and grows up to be the famous Christmas gift-giver. The familiar story--remarkable orphan fulfills prophesy--has an aural cadence conducive to reading aloud, but is ultimately distracting. (c) Copyright 2010.
