Horn Book Review

Patrick unsuccessfully tries to befriend a butterfly, a frog, and a cat before meeting a boy who wants to play with him. The trite story is amateurishly illustrated with bland color cartoons that depict stars spiraling around Patrick's head when he's dazed and a tear rolling down his cheek when he's sad. Not surprisingly, the book is inspired by a merchandised plush toy. From HORN BOOK 1997, (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
