Horn Book Review

First-grader Nate longs to take ballet lessons and regrets to find that his class is full of girls. The denouement is predictable--Nate is affirmed upon meeting a male ballet pro--and the all-canine cast, which includes human-proportioned biped dancers with dog heads, seems a strange choice. Still, the story gets points for liveliness and for its sermon-free anti-stereotype message. (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
